Thank you for visiting our website. We’re glad you’re here.
If you are a bereaved parent, we hope you’ll find that spending time with other parents brings comfort and encouragement. Through online and in-person Gatherings, book studies, GriefShare, support groups, conferences, and other events, parents have an opportunity to share about their children and experience community with others, as they are challenged to trust Jesus, the only One who can truly comfort our broken hearts.
If you have not lost a child but would like to learn how to better comfort those who are grieving, we hope that Our Hearts Are Home will be a resource to help that happen.
Fall 2024 Conference
We hope you’ll join us online or in Indianapolis, IN for this special opportunity to gather with other parents who have lost children, and with other believers who want to learn how to better comfort a grieving friend. Be challenged, inspired, comforted, and encouraged from our time together.
Held through the Storm: Stories of Suicide Loss and Hope in Christ
Suicide — a word that no one wishes to be a part of their life’s story. In the chapters of Held Through the Storm: Stories of Suicide Loss and Hope in Christ, you will find families whose lives are forever changed because of it. You will be introduced to fourteen remarkable young people who were kind, highly accomplished, and deeply loved.
If you have lost a child by suicide, then we hope that reading the accounts of others who have walked this path will bring comfort and hope, and that you will discover that you can trust God in the midst of the devastating storm.
For those who have not experienced the loss of a child by suicide, we hope that the book will help equip you to come alongside a bereaved parent in their greatest time of need. We also hope it will enhance your understanding of the journey of suicide grief and perhaps remove some of the stigmas which are so commonly associated with this type of loss.
Our Mission
Our Hearts Are Home is a faith-based non-profit organization whose purpose is to minister to grieving families, provide encouragement to those who are suffering and educate and equip individuals to reach out to those in need.
“Having attended a book study group, we continued on with the connections in the monthly support group. These were our first connections with a support group since losing our daughter in 2018. It felt so comfortable to be with other grieving parents.” — Tat's Parents
“In our grief of losing a child, it is often hard to connect with others who could possibly understand the pain we feel. I found comfort meeting with this group of parents.” — Caleb’s Mom
"I really appreciated the opportunity to share our story without judgment, and with a group of people who get it. I felt understood and less alone in my grief." — Levi's Mom
OHAH facilitators are not trained grief counselors but are simply bereaved parents and fellow journeyers who are navigating the difficult path of child loss. Participating in an OHAH event should not be viewed in any way as a substitute for professional counseling.
