Dear Friends,
We look forward to meeting you all at the upcoming HEAV conference! If you’ve homeschooled for awhile, we might’ve already met in a booth that we ran at HEAV over the years. We live in Lynchburg, and are grateful for the work of HEAV to support homeschool families across the state.
We homeschooled our children for their entire education, and through the many hours of learning together, we became very close. Like many of you, our kids have always been each other’s best friends. When we lost our youngest son in 2016, our family was devastated and we had no idea how to navigate the loss.
A few years down the road, the Lord led us to start a ministry, Our Hearts Are Home, to walk alongside grieving parents and grandparents, and help equip believers to minister to those who are grieving.
If you are a bereaved parent or grandparent, we hope you’ll join us at an upcoming Our Hearts Are Home event. And if you are not grieving a loss, you likely know someone who is, and we hope you’ll pass along these resources.
With hope,
Gary & Laura House

When a parent loses a child, they desperately need the body of Christ to surround them with love and support. However, if someone hasn’t experienced child loss, they can’t truly understand. This booklet shares helpful ways that believers can help bring comfort to a bereaved parent.
While every day is hard for a grieving parent, holidays add another layer of difficulty. This booklet offers helpful ways that friends and family can surround a bereaved parent during the holiday season.
Although the ideas in this download refer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, many of these ideas can be used to honor and remember our children on any day.
