JIM & LYNN BIRD
After retiring in 2019 from forty-five years in sales and marketing within the paper industry, Jim and his wife, Lynn, now have more time to spend with family and friends. Jim also has time to expand his hobbies of woodworking, photography, and video production. Lynn is retired from senior home care and taking care of her own mother for ten years, so she can devote more of her energy to baking, interior decorating and the women’s ministry at their church. However “staying busy” was never the goal; it’s more about serving those in need, while using the gifts the Lord has given them.
Jim and Lynn have used their experience with loss to help other couples dealing with the death of a spouse. Lynn’s first husband, Greg, passed away in 1997 from brain cancer, and Jim’s wife, Debbie, died in 2000 from a tragic car accident. They both desire to minister to families and churches who are dealing with the deep pain that comes with a loss. “We firmly believe that Our Hearts Are Home is well positioned to come alongside those who are suffering from the loss of a child”, says Jim…“And we are proud to be involved with this amazing team of believers.”
Jim and Lynn reside in Ohio and have four married children (and twelve grandchildren) living as far away as Eastern Europe, Virginia, California & Tennessee.
Jim serves Our Hearts Are Home in Partnership Development and leads the audio/video team at the OHAH conferences. Lynn serves at conferences as the Hospitality Coordinator.
