LEONARD & AMY BAILEY

Leonard and Amy Bailey live in Stafford, Virginia where Leonard is the pastor of Hope of Christ Church, a church God called them to plant in 2007.  Amy is a former high school business teacher who now works part time providing bookkeeping for churches and nonprofits.  They have known each other since the third grade having grown up together in church. They have been married since 1992 and have four adult children, two children-in-law, and one grandson.

Their third child, Ilona, went to be with the Lord at the age of twenty-three on September 21, 2022 when she died suddenly in a car accident while driving to visit her sister.

Out of their grief and the comfort they have received, Leonard and Amy started The Ilona Foundation, a ministry that offers compassionate support and guidance to individuals and families navigating grief and loss.  This nonprofit organization offers financial assistance for those seeking grief counseling, a monthly bereaved parent support group, training to churches and faith communities who want to care well for those who are grieving, and other useful grief resources.  Additionally, the foundation sponsors an annual concert, The Sunflower Concert, which is an evening of powerful worship and moving lament aimed to remind anyone who attends that no matter where they are on their journey, we don’t walk alone.
