MARK & PAT ROSER

Mark and Pat served full-time in Zimbabwe, Africa as missionaries for twenty-two years where they led thousands to faith in Christ. They pioneered churches, established a large Bible School, provided for AIDS orphans, and mentored many who are active in full-time ministry around the world. Currently, they do overseas mission trips for a quarter of each year, minister at churches in the US, and write. Mark also serves as an elder at Antioch Church in Lebanon, Ohio.

Mark and Pat were married in Zimbabwe in 1981 and have four children; Johnathan, Elesha, Nathan, and Ethan. They tell their story in My African Dream, Transformed by the Rain. Mark has a doctorate in Biblical Studies and has authored five other books.

In 2017, Ethan, their youngest son, was hit and killed by an errant hammer throw at a Track and Field event at Wheaton College. He was a member of the soccer team and studying for the ministry. Ethan was an unusually happy camper and actively shared his faith at Young Life. He was known for his bubbly, engaging personality.

In the wake of Ethan’s death, Mark journaled his grief journey, Blindsided, A Journey from Tragic Loss to Triumphant Love. Since the book’s release in 2021, it has one of the highest Amazon star grades among grief books, 4.7, and has ranked as high as number two in that category. Mark has recently published a sequel, titled They Asked Why, And God Answered Them. That book examines Moses, Habakkuk, Jeremiah, Job, David, Jesus, and Paul’s “why” questions, and the profound answers God gave them.
