Finding Solace and Renewed Hope

On April 21-22, a group of bereaved parents met in Tulsa, Oklahoma and online to attend a conference, Discerning Biblical Truth: A Conference for Bereaved Parents. Some parents were new to this journey of grief, and the pain was palpable. Others were many years down the road and offered a different perspective, testifying to the faithfulness of God through the most difficult storm they’d ever experienced. 

We love being with other bereaved parents. After Nathan went to Heaven, we found ourselves drawn to these unique people who had put their trust in Jesus while facing the worst thing that could ever happen to them. 

As grieving parents spend time together, a beautiful picture of the Body of Christ is exemplified. What a privilege it is to have the opportunity to “weep with those who weep,” and offer support and comfort because of a common bond and the hope we have in Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

If you missed the spring conference, portions of it are now available on our YouTube channel.  We hope that grieving parents will find comfort and hope through the sessions, and our desire for those who have not experienced child loss is that they will gain a deeper understanding and be more equipped to help others around them who are hurting.
