Until Then
February 7, 2021 — Gary and Laura House
Two weeks from now we’ll gather online for our first Our Hearts Are Home conference, and we hope you might join us there. If you are a bereaved parent or someone who would like to better understand how to minister to a grieving friend, come share this time with us. Throughout the day you’ll meet ten families who are walking the road of child loss, yet have found hope, joy, and purpose in the midst of their grief. We think you’ll be encouraged.
If you’ve lost a child, you have experienced the depth of grief that consumes us as parents. How can we continue to live on earth in a way that pleases God without our precious children here? Does He truly care?
If you’ve never lost a child, you likely know someone who has. What can you do and say to be a blessing to them? How can you help bring comfort and encouragement to a grieving friend?
Throughout our time together, we’ll talk about these questions and so many more.
The name of our upcoming conference reflects the words of a song written by Ray Price — Until Then. The words remind us that our citizenship is in Heaven, and although we face trials, tribulations, and devastating loss on earth, there will come a day when we’ll enter the presence of the Lord to begin our real life of eternity. And at that moment, “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
If your loss is new, the possibility of experiencing joy again may sound unimaginable. But we hope you’ll come and hear from some who have traveled a bit further down this road of grief and have found that we can actually live the rest of our earthly days with joy and purpose, as we anticipate the glorious reunion with our children.
Until Then- by Ray Price
“My heart can sing when I pause to remember, A heartache here is but a stepping stone, Along a path that's winding always upward, This troubled world is not my final home. But until then my heart will go on singing, Until then with joy I'll carry on, Until the day my eyes behold my Saviour, Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value, If we recall they're borrowed for a while, And things of earth that cause this heart to tremble, Remember there will only bring a smile, But until then my heart will go on singing, Until then with joy I'll carry on, Until the day my eyes behold my Saviour, Until the day God calls me home.”
